The Aims of the Exhibition is to bring together all those that have contributed to the project and to the exhibition, a celebration of what has been achieved so far. Through the exhibition and the oral history booth as well as the community elements through object handling, recorded responses and display of public contributions to the project.

The Event

The event will be a last chance to listen to oral history clips in oral history booth. Most particularly this is an opportunity for project participants to see and hear their contribution in a gallery setting. For others a chance to expose more people to the oral history booth’s contents.

The community exhibition gallery will host several additional features for the closing celebration all highlighting a particular feature of the project’s work.

The gallery itself will host an object handling session based on the objects and themes on display in the gallery. This session will use real museum objects which can be picked up and touched by the public.

For the duration of the project the public have been encouraged to fill in the "my favourite memory" postcards. Many of the postcards that have been filled in since the exhibition opened in February will be on display for people to read.

People will then have the chance to record a short video postcard of their favourite memories in the gallery. In addition there will be the opportunity for people to record a short video response to the objects on display and available for handling.

These recordings will be undertaken in partnership with the Community Reporters Project through Web Connect and will then be posted online. Whether as an individual or a family it’s a chance to get involved with the Histories Revealed Project in your own way in just a few minutes.
